Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument located in the English country of Wiltshire.It is one of the most famous sites in the world, composed of earthworks surrounding a circular setting of large standing stones.Archaeologists have believed that the iconic stone monument was erected around 2500 BC.The site and its surroundings were added to the UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites in 1986 Stonehenge was produced by a culture that left no written records. Many aspects of Stonehenge remain subject to debate. This multiplicity of theories, some of them very colourful, are often called the "mystery of Stonehenge".
2.Chichen Itza, Mexico
It is a large pre-Columbian archaeological site built by the Maya civilization located in the northern center of the Yucatán Peninsula,in the Municipality of Tinúm, Yucatán state, present-day Mexico.The Maya name "Chich'en Itza" means "At the mouth of the well of the Itza."It is the type of building you can imagine being filled with El Dorado's lost gold.

It is a World Heritage Site (as determined by UNESCO) with much of the island protected within Rapa Nui National ParkThe indigenous name of Easter Island, Rapa Nui is a volcanic, Polynesian island watched over by huge stone Maoi, eerie figures supposedly built to represent important ancestors of each clan that weigh hundreds of tons and rise 60 feet. Over 3,000 people live on the island today alongside the statues.

7. Historic Centre of St. Petersburg, Russia
Historic Centre of St. Petersburg,is a city situated on the bank of river Neva in Russia. A majestic palace on the border of Granada, the Alhambra was once the residence of Moorish kings, but it's now one of the world's largest open-air museums of Islamic architecture and a World Heritage Site.There are royal residential quarters, official chambers, a bathhouse, and a mosque, as well as a series of courtyards flanked by sweeping archways, columns and fountains inside the citadel complex .

Tikal is the largest of Maya cities during the "Classic Era" over 1000 years ago.It is located in the archaeological region of the Petén Basin in what is now northern Guatemala. Many beautiful buildings have been uncovered and many more are till remained to be discovered. Amongst the many Maya sites in Central America, Tikal is perhaps the most breathtaking ,because of the impressive buildings which have been restored in an area with many more ruined buildings still enveloped by the jungle. The sight of the temples poking through the canopy is quite awesome.

Notre Dame is a world heritage site steeped in history and characterized by its French-gothic architecture, natural-looking sculptures and beautiful stained glass windows.It is widely considered one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture in France and in Europe .
