La Tomatina


The festival of La Tomatina  is celebrated in the Valencian town of Buñol, Spain .In this festival people throw tomatoes at each other and enjoy. It is held the last Wednesday in August, during the week of festivities of Buñol.


Festivities begin with the first event of the Tomatina,at around 10 AM.The ham is kept on the top of greasy pole and the aim is to climb the greasy pole.The crowd is being showered  in  water from hoses. Once someone is able to drop the ham off the pole, the start signal for the tomato fight is given. The signal for the start is at about 11 when a loud shot rings out, and the chaos begins.

 
Several  trucks  throw tomatoes in large quantity in the Plaza del Pueblo. The tomatoes come from Extremadura, where they are  cheap and are grown specially for the holidays, being of poorer taste. The use of goggles and gloves are suggested for the participants. To reduce the injury  it is suggested that the tomatoes must be crushed before being thrown .


After exactly one hour, the fight ends with the firing of the second shot, which announce the end. The whole town square is colored red and rivers of tomato juice flow freely. Fire Trucks hose down the streets and locals provide hoses to the participants  to remove the tomato paste from their bodies.

Top 10 largest temples in the world

10. Baalbek


Baalbek, also called Heliopolis,it  is one of theamazing archaeological site in northeastern Lebanon.The temple of Jupiter was lined by 54 huge granite columns from which only 6 of these  massive  columns remain standing but even they are extremely impressive. The best preserved temple at the site is the Temple of Bacchus built in 150 AD it is  69 meters long and 36 meters wide temple.

It is 70 meters (230 feet) tall, with the main gold-plated cross on top of the dome extends the church for 12 more meters (39 feet). It has a surface area of 3,500 m2 on the ground floor.

Jetavanaramaya is the largest stupa in the world if measured by volume which is located in the city of Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka, . The temple was built by king Mahasena in the 3rd century AD and took 15 years to complete. Approximately 93.3 million baked bricks were used in the construction. With a height of 122 meters (400 feet), The diameter of the dome itself is approximately 95 meters (312 feet).

The temple is dedicated to Lord Ranganatha (a reclining form of Lord Vishnu), the Sri Ranganathaswamy With an area of 156 acres (6,31,000 m²), the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple is one of the largest temples in the world. There are 21 gopurams (tower), among which the Rajagopuram is the biggest temple in South India. It is 73 meters (240 feet) in height, and dates from the 17th century, although it was only completed in 1987.

4. Akshardham Temple



Akshardham temple,  Completed in 2005 by the spiritual organization BAPS,. The central monument is 43 meters (141 feet) high, 96 meters (316 feet) wide, and 110 meters (370 feet) long, and is covered top to bottom with carved details of flora, fauna, dancers, musicians, and deities. It is constructed completely from Rajasthani pink sandstone and Italian Carrara marble, and has no support from steel or concrete.

The Borobudur is the largest Buddhist temple in the world Located on the Indonesian island of Java ,built by  the kingdom of Sailendra.,. The Borobodur can be divided into three groups: base, body, and top, which resembles the three major division of a human body. The base is a 123×123 meters (403.5×403.5 feet) square in size and 4 meters (13 feet) high of walls. The total surface area is approximately 2,500 mt. The dome has a height of 35 meters (115 feet) from the ground level.

The inner gallery is a 60 x 60 meter (197 x 197 feet) square area. The tower above the central shrine rises 65 meters (213 feet) above the ground.

  It is a nice little widget that utilizes the dual-LED flash on the Motorola Droid as a flashlight.  There are still some  technical  hurdles  relating to handling of screen brightness  to get  over before making this a completely polished widget.

   Allows for user-selectable topic selection for news feeds.  Weather portion is a nice addition (though lacking in graphics).  This widget is available stock on Android 2.1 and higher  devices.  The interface with The Weather Channel API is smooth and also offer some features you may not have seen in other weather widgets like temperature and rainfall .   graphs.  Another  benefit  the weather application uses your current location based on GPS.  Only some customization skins and additional widget  size are missing here .

  For  keeping up to date with your favorite sports teams this widget is best. Tons of teams which includes most popular college and professional sports. 

  9. Facebook for Android [Free] -

 Aside from additional facebook functionality and defining the page your phone hits when it accesses facebook, we need customization skins and additional widget sizes.  It just  looks  clunky...  NOTE:  This widget may lose out to the Motorola Social Networking widget available on the Motorola Droid 2.

1. Stonehenge, England


Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument located in the English country of Wiltshire.It is one of the most famous sites in the world,  composed of earthworks surrounding a circular setting of large standing stones.Archaeologists have believed that the iconic stone monument was erected around 2500 BC.The site and its surroundings were added to the UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites in 1986 Stonehenge was produced by a culture that left no written records. 2.Chichen Itza, Mexico
